Outdoor Service Information
Where is the service held?
How long will the service last?
We plan for the service to be about one hour long. Following the service, everyone needs to depart immediately to make space for GBC to promptly begin setting up for their service.
Will we sing?
Yes! We plan to sing together at a safe social distance. You can download the weekly bulletin here (PDF) with song lyrics and order of service.
What should I expect?
Social distancing – In accordance with PG County executive orders, all attendees will be required to maintain six feet or more of social distance at all times.
Casual atmosphere – We recognize that an outdoor setting with blankets and lawn chairs will, by nature, lend itself to a more casual atmosphere. We’re ok with that, and we hope you feel comfortable joining us in a relaxed setting!
Worship – We desire to maintain reverence in our worship as we sing, pray, read Scripture, and listen to the sermon together.
Do I need to wear a mask?
Yes. Greenbelt Baptist Church requires that masks be worn by all church attendees ages 4 and up in order to be a good witness to their local community. In an effort to show neighborly love and care towards others, and out of an abundance of caution, all those ages 4 and above attending our service are required to wear a face-covering.
Should I bring anything?
Yes! You will need to bring your own seating (blanket, lawn chairs, stroller – whatever will help you be comfortable during the service). You should also bring a mask for everyone ages four and up.
What should I leave at home?
Attendees are not permitted to bring pets or any items that would encourage shared contact with other households (outdoor toys, balls, etc).
What about children?
Children are required to stay with their parents at all times. To help with this, parents should feel free to bring books, quiet toys, or strollers in order to aid in keeping their kids close and to make the experience as comfortable as possible.
Are restrooms available?
Greenbelt Baptist Church has kindly given us access to their building in case access to a bathroom is needed.
What if it’s raining?
In the case of inclement weather, check the website for up-to-date information on alternative service plans.
