John was raised in a military family and spent most of his childhood moving between Central America and the United States. After attending college at Virginia Commonwealth University, John joined the United States Coast Guard. When he was 30 the Lord graciously intervened in his life and saved him. After coming to faith in Christ, John left the Coast Guard to pursue pastoral ministry. In 2014 he completed the pastoral internship at Capitol Hill Baptist Church. He then came on staff at CHBC serving as a pastoral assistant, and then later as an assistant pastor. In 2017 he joyfully took on the role of planting a new congregation out of CHBC in Cheverly, MD. He completed his M.Div at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2018. John is married to the love of his life, Leia, and has two sons, Jack and Knox, and two daughters, Grace and Caroline.
